About Us

Our History

In March 2019, local caregiver Razia Mohammed saw an opportunity to help underprivileged and needy Fijians by donating urgently needed groceries and medical supplies as well doing fundraisers for medical treatments for terminally ill and financially challenged Fijians.

Thus Being Helping Hand Fiji was founded collecting like minded volunteers along the way who shared the same dream of making a difference in the lives of vulnerable Fijians. Initially started in Suva today Being Helping Hand Fiji now has teams in Ba, Lautoka, Nadi, Sigatoka, Navua, Suva, Nausori and Labasa.

Since its establishment in September 2019, Being Helping Hand Fiji has expanded to provide support to vulnerable groups like the elderly, disabled, children, single mothers, unemployed and impoverished Fijians in terms of food, education, housing, sanitation, health care/medical treatments and upskilling.

In 2020, Being Helping Hand Fiji got recognized for its work in feeding the homeless and took 1st place as both Country and Regional winner in DHL’s GOT HEART competition.

At present we partner and work closely with local and international NGOs like Sai Prema Foundation Fiji, Rabia Foundation USA Inc, Friends of Fiji Health NZ, Fiji Girmit Foundation NZ and Being Helping Hand Queensland to aid and support Fijians affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
